i wished blogger had a larger editing area for a post.

Hello EVERYONE! My sister took this photo using my camera phone when she was bored, it looks so cute. In case you're wondering, that toy is a handphone holder, my maple guild master gave it to me during one of our outings =)
This is my Maple Guild, CrystalMagic!
Sorry everyone, been really busy with housework, sigh... As if that were not enough, the sewers backed up and flooded my toilet with disgusting shit and urine. Thank GOD Henry, the brave one, helped me in casting out the gruesome toilet contaminants.
This is what it looks like hosed down once...
Still very much intact, only after much scrubbing and lots of "SPANK" floor detergent did it clear up. Because it couldn't go back down the drain, I had to scoop it up into the dustbin. And have I mentioned the STENCH?!! WHY IS LIFE SO HORRIBLE TO ME!
As if all that shit wasn't enough (pun unintended), my house has been raided by colonies of ants. If we chase them out of a nest they carry their eggs and Queen to another location. I won't be surprised if our house collapsed one day revealing multiple colonies of termites/ants/other pests. There are lizards everywhere too! ARGH!
We chased them from the bathroom mirror.
And they moved across the dining room floor... =.="
Okay no more gruesome pictures for now... ~_~ Elsa is growing bigger and bigger, she's also getting more clingy to her mom and refuses to let me carry her for long periods of time now. Awww =(
Maplers are going to laugh at the MENTOS box behind me in this picture. Yes this is Henry's room, but the mentos box has been empty for ages now!
I also got a haircut from Pro Trim, which cost me 35 dollars, which I don't think is worth it at all. Don't cut your hair at Pro Trim in Causeway Point, the hairdresser Jenny treated my head like it was a block of wood, she was so ROUGH with me. My mom always complains she pays for my haircut which looks like it did no change at all, but can't she see the layers are smoother and I shortened my bangs? =P
Having a dangerous star gazing session on the roof of our house XD
Henry and I decided to take our first NeoPrints together! I chose the one at Orchard Cine because I like their cute backgrounds... See for yourself!
The one above is abit tricky to do, after three separate trips to this NeoPrint station with other people, I finally managed to get this shot done! See how our faces are in the screens of our handphones? =) Cute!
Hheeheh...
The orangey reddish thing you see poking Henry's face from my hair is actually a Hawaiian flower that my sister bought for me, it's so beautiful! But you can't really see it clearly in the picture above.
There's the flower, my sister's so sweet =D
Valentine's week was a really chocolatey one for me.
First I went to Max Brenner's Chocolate Bar @ Esplanade with Llewellyn (the designer for my blog header picture).
We took a photo at the rooftop garden of the Esplanade. It was really beautiful, had a great view albeit construction site view but the weather was windy... ^^
We had a delicious Chocolate Souffle (which is like a chocolate cake with melted chocolate in it),
a Suckao (a mug with a lit candle below it to melt the chocolate chips you're given to mix with the milk)
and yummy Chocolate Fondue served with banana bread, giant fluffy marshmellows, banana and strawberry slices to dip with. Mmmm that made me so full.
I can never understand why flower bouquets on Valentine's Day are so expensive! My father bought one for my mom at 81 dollars! They really make a fortune out of men.
It is because of these exorbitant prices that I made Henry promise me not to get me flowers this year. Remember the beautiful bouquet http://priscillabuk.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html Henry got me last year? That money could have been spent on our dinner or something we can use together =)
(ERGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH while going back to last year feb's post I accidentally saw the disgusting breast photo again!!! MY EYESSSS!!!!)
Anyway, at the stroke of midnight (I wasn't checking), Henry suddenly pulled out a rose for me and that really surprised me because I looked at everything he brought over to my house and didn't see it. My expression => =O THANK YOU DARLING!
We had a lovely chocolate buffet at The Fullerton.
The picture isn't clear but what you're looking at is a small house made of meringue with little hamburger chocolate meringues stuck on it that you can pluck out and eat. Heheh...and they have chocolate Haagan Daaz ice cream (the small plastic dome on the left of the lamp).
The faint image of the chef behind the lamp is stirring up potent shots of hot chocolate for the people queueing there. There are many different chocolates you can choose from, arranged according to the different percentage of cocoa they contain.
Our table =)
I wonder why I did not take a picture of the magnificient multi tier chocolate fountain. They served the most juicy and sweet WHOLE strawberries for you to dip into the thick flowing fountain. There were also, chocolate truffles, long pocky-like biscuits, other kinds of preserved olives and plums, chocolate coated cookies and giant marshmellows at the station. That was our favourite part of the buffet!
The Fullerton is rated with 5 or 6 stars and it clearly shows in their presentation and service. Every man who walked into The Fullerton that Saturday was given a very beautiful and high quality rose to give to the lady that he was accompanying.
Just some of the many chocolate creations you can get from the buffet. I asked the French chef if there was Tiramisu and most disappointingly there were none. Which is weird because they always say Tiramisu is the cake of love. I was really looking forward to eating that.
On a final note, I really want a video camera =( I have nothing to record my videos with anymore.
Dong Dong Chiang!
Sunday, February 1, 2009, it's 10:19 AM.
My life has changed drastically since the unceremonious departure of that helluva maid. I've been busy with housework, yes... Priscilla and housework, two words I never thought would be joined by "doing". I now have to plan my schedule around Persisca's so I can be home when she's back from school.
I overheard my mom telling my relatives in Malaysia that she dismissed my warning to her as "child talking bad about the maid", and "children quarrelling". That made me so upset, and I remember how hurt I was when she didn't believe me before.
I think the Singapore to Malaysia checkpoints win the award for the most stagnant traffic. We waited one and a half hours just to get across the bridge, what a complete waste of time! We visited my relatives, who are all based in Kuala Lumpur. My uncle has since moved into a beautiful apartment with an amazing outdoor area overlooking a hill. And it's also always windy! Amazing!
Finally went swimming in my poor neglected swimsuit which is suppose to fit me for the rest of my life (it better). I've actually taken plenty of photos of his fantastic house but to my greatest lament, I lost my pink precious camera in a Zara fitting room at MidValley shopping mall. I feel so regretful for losing it because I'm usually so careful.
I'm sorry my precious, we had a great journey together capturing time and my videos. We had great plans for the future too, I hope you're in a better place. T.T I'm hoping I can get a slim video camera very soon to bring my future videos to fruition.
You know how the shopping malls in Singapore "dress" themselves up for the various occasions? Well, the one thing Malaysia trumps over Singapore are their elaborately decorated Chinese New Year sets. They span from the ceiling to the floor, the stage is layered with textiles that do not look cheap. Everything is done very professionally and doesn't look like it was improvised from recycled materials.
So today's the 16th month anniversary, Henry and I watched Jack Neo's "Love Matters". It was quite good, but the previous one Money No Enough 2 is much better. Love Matters soundtrack is very weird, irrelevant and over-the-top tunes suddenly pop up unannounced, it didn't help that the level 9 cineleisure theatre speakers were cranked up to an unbearable volume.
We then trooped of to Tonkichi, a Japanese restaurant opposite Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao in Takashimaya, that specialises in deep fried pork cutlets. Their pork cutlets are tender, fresh and lightly battered. Everything you order from this place tastes really good.
I ordered a Katsudon, which is a pork cutlet with egg simmered in special sauce. It was really good, but fried stuff tend to make one feel very full.
Henry ordered the premium grain-fed Australian pork fillet O_O which tasted good too, but I liked mine better because of the flavourful sauce =) We had yummy mango gelato for dessert at the same place. If any of you love mango, order the mango dessert at Shokudo, it's so refreshing and light.
Never order your stuff from Amazon, it's been ages and they still haven't delivered my expensive hundred dollar curling iron while my inexpensive Helen of Troy curling iron has already arrived, and it was bought from Ebay with CHEAPER shipping charges. Seriously these other online merchants have such cut-throat postage, even want to profit from that...
I admit I've got an obsession with styling my hair now, buying more professional tools and surfing videos to study. Maybe it's because my hair is almost waist length now. It's so irritating to have to buy the good stuff online, I wished Singapore imported brands like Helen of Troy, Enzo Milano and most importantly, the famous CHI flat iron. I have yet to buy the raved about Chi Silk Infusion Therapy for hair. It's said to make hair soft and shiny with just a dime size portion of the product.
Dark Eyes
Monday, January 19, 2009, it's 12:20 AM.
Two weeks ago, my mother called back home from work. She was in the midst of checking her bank statement online and the latest cheque clearance sparked her suspicions.
Upon further checking, she realised she was missing 10 cheques from her chequebook. The weird thing is, her cheques are in a locked place in our house. It turns out up to 5 cheques have been cleared, ones that were not written by my mother.
DBS then started an investigation and last Friday morning, they informed my mother that all the cheques went to an account belonging to my maid. If you have been following my blog, you would have read my post on her stealing money from my wallet. And now, she has stolen more than 2000 dollars from my mother.
My mother was distraught and shaken while she filed a police report. The police informed her that Ira would have to stay in jail for 6-8months pending a court case, during which she would not be able to hire another maid. So my mother arranged for Ira to be deported immediately.
Ira even asked my mom for 80 dollars at the airport, saying that she needed to take bus from Indonesia airport back to her home. My mom agreed, but in return she had to explain how she managed she steal those cheques. Ira revealed that she found my mother's keys and stole the cheques when she was away at work. She forged my mother's signature, copying it from the cheques my mom wrote for the gardener.
I remember when my mother did not fire Ira when I warned her, I even cried because they didn't believe me. I remember telling my mother, "Why do you want to wait for something worse to happen before you send her back? You are going to regret it!" And now, it really happened...
Ira already wired the money back to her parents in Indonesia, so we didn't receive any money back. Gosh, she's such an ungrateful ***** A few months ago, my mother actually terminated her contract when she found out Ira has been lying about having a boyfriend. She even asked her boyfriend to sneak around our house at night so she can talk to him from her window!
But after hearing Ira tell her sob stories, my mom HIRED her back! =.=" Even giving her a pay increase and Sunday off. That was when I really told my mom she would regret it. Why is she so so DUMB!!!! All this could have been avoided had my mother not hired Ira back. Ira used her Sunday off to drop the stolen cheques and wire money back to Indonesia...sheesh.
Worse of all, my mom's too traumatised now to hire another maid. There is so much to be done around the house, I feel so sad.
Sidenote: I have drawn up a proposal for my parents to implement an incentive-based system for our chores. For example, washing all our 4 toilets for 30 dollars to vacuuming for 6 dollars. I hope they agree to it, my mom seemed quite positive about it (accepting any idea that did not include another blasted life ruiner).
For you, my sweet embrace...
Sunday, January 11, 2009, it's 8:53 PM.
I'm currently listening to several of Corrinne May's songs and her voice has such a soothing tone. I really feel like I keep going on and on haphazardly, like I'm moving but not actually reaching anywhere. With my studies (or lack thereof), my underachieving voice, and as the cherry on top is a smattering of never ending small pimples on my cheeks and chin.
Been trying almost everything but it seems relentless... I read on the internet that it's due to hormones, that's horrible! At least if it's something external I could do something about it... It makes me so afraid that I'll have trouble with it again like before.
I guess it sounds inane, irresponsible, and every negative thing you can say about it but....I really have a deep phobia of Nanyang Poly. My body reacts with bouts of none stop sneezing and watery eyes once I'm in a lecture room. The very thought of travelling to a cold and strange place with the chitter chatter of people I don't know and will never get to know squeezes out any drop of will left in my spirit to go to school. So many things have happened during my period in NYP - a disastrous and destructive relationship, constant failures and the drawn out exhausting hours. I just...I just hate it so much, I don't understand anything about anything there, I just feel so confused and troubled there. After everything I've been through the past few years, all I ever wanted was to feel happy and leave behind that cloud of dread and doom that do nothing but rain tears. I just hate the never-ending quest of finding distractions just so I can postpone that sense of gloom for just one more minute; one more hour, something to push out thoughts of that day far back in my mind. I don't even want to have my 21st birthday party anymore, having people come over and ask me about my life, my future, my school is horrible because I don't even know where I am. There are some things that will haunt you for the rest of your life and anything you do is just a quest to get away from it. Here I am, just finished getting ready to go for Bonnie's 21st Birthday Party that has a "Mad Hatter's Tea Party" theme.
Llewellyn trying on a pair of unlikely sunglasses at Bugis and striking a pose he calls "bitchy". Ha Ha!
This is my absolute favourite building in Singapore and I only step foot into it recently. It's called Parkview Square and has the most beautiful architecture and floor garden. I guess one reason why I like it so much is that it reminds me of a building in my favourite show "A.I.".
We were back from renting hats from a place called "Masquerade" near Bugis for Bonnie's party.
Henry, Llewellyn and I rented a cowboy hat, a Top hat and widow hat respectively. I saw Bonnie's grandmother looking very disapprovingly at the hat I wore since it's supposed to be for funerals. Ha ha! But it's the hat I've always wanted to try on if I ever had to wear one. The veil looks so elegant, though I wished I had thrown on a more matching outfit...
Geraldine, Me, and the birthday Girl Bonnie. She's wearing a sign that says, "Hug The Birthday Girl", and on the flipside it says, "Kiss The Birthday Girl". Her friend, Kerri, had us hug her and sign her placard...
Her parents bought her two very delicious ice-cream cakes from Haagan Daaz, it probably cost them a bomb. But they're so tiny though...should have a huge spectacular cake =) But I'm not sure I'd have that for my party either... Dunno where I should get a big cake...hmm.
Here's most of us, I lost the picture where Henry and Llewellyn were in it too. My hat was quite popular, some of the girls really liked it. =) It was quite interesting I guess, and the steaks Bonnie's father cooked for us were very good. Henry liked them alot...
Once upon a new year, mooooo~
Monday, January 5, 2009, it's 11:53 PM.
This is how I look like without eyebrows and a huge bowl of udon (I could fit my entire head in the bowl with space). Waraku is officially now my favourite Japanese Restaurant of all time!
I love the Potato Mentai, and their Udon is spectacular, slurpilicious, chewy and everything good! Another must-try is their Stone bowl Unagi Fried Rice and all the salmon sushi is the best I've ever tried, better than some I've tried in Japan even.
Really annoyed with Shin-Kushiya with their really over priced sushi, one piece for $3 dollars (one piece not one plate with two pieces). I also tried the most disgusting scallops there, or maybe I'm just not used to eating slightly raw and squishy scallops. I prefer the chinese kind with the veggies...
When Eunice was in Singapore, we tried chocolate ice cream from awfullychocolate, a nondescript place selling chocolate cakes too. It's easy to look past their store at Vivocity (Level One) because it's so plain looking, white tiles and just a store sign.
The reason for not displaying their cakes? - "It's because they all look the same, " says the salesgirl. Well maybe if customers could SEE the cake they might feel enticed to buy? Anyway, after some enquiries, I found out that they sell Banana Choc Fudge, Rum and Raisins Choc Fudge, and just plain Choc Fudge. The Banana Choc Fudge isn't really nice, they used mashed up bananas instead of fresh cut slices like Secret Recipe.
I remember trying their Rum and Raisins cake long time ago when we celebrated a secondary classmate's birthday at our school canteen, so that was *calculates*....around 4 years ago. Gawd I'm old...
But I digress, the chocolate ice-cream, $3.50 for a single scoop and $6.20 for double scoop, is absolutely fantastic. It lacks the smoothness of Godiva's Chocolate Ice Cream but is better than every other brand I've tried. Baskin Robbin's would be after this. It comes in a super cute little paper bucket and green plastic spoon in a shape of a leaf (which I kept =D).
Which Priscilla's post will be complete without the usual waxing lyrical over Elsa? =P Seriously, the cutest baby I've ever seen in my life, next to Persisca when she was young. Every week I see her make new adorable expressions on her face.
Her little white jacket she wore on Christmas Day is so cute =) However, when I told her mother about it, she said it wasn't meant to be a jacket actually. She bought it a few weeks ago but Elsa grew too plump so now it's a jacket. Ha ha...
These pictures are taken by Eunice, who agrees she's a cute baby after seeing her in Real Life, so I'm not just the lone crazy person that keeps talking about Elsa OK? =P
Now to the main course of today's post, so to speak.
Henry brought me to Angus Steakhouse for New Year's Day =) It's located opposite Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao, and it's completely covered in white tiled walls, looking very exclusive.
The interior is rather dim, and looks unlike any Singaporean restaurant. It's not a fine dining place as I thought, because they're tables and chairs look rather cheap. Angus Steakhouse looks more like how a homely dining room would look like, and it smells great too!
Our reserved table has a beautiful Orchard Road view, which was still decorated with Christmas Lights, so it was simply perfect. Thanks honey! =)Oh, I forgot to mention that the 1st of January was also out 15th month anniversary. (My mom keeps complaining that it's our anniversary all the time, LOL!)
Our cute little home baked bun with creamy butter, something my dad would have loved.
The hors d'oeuvre (which greatly puzzled us) consist of fried fish topped with some kind of tomato paste and sitting on a bed of diced spinach(?) in a most delicious sauce. The fried fish is the best fried fish I've ever tasted. You know how usually fried fish has dry meat? This has the meat akin to steamed fish, it is not dry at all! How do they do that??
After researching, I found out that hors d'oeuvre are food items served before the main courses of a meal. I thought it was a name of a food item or something, haha...
After the hors d'oeuvre I had Potage Corn Soup while Henry had clear Beef soup, both of which we savoured and forgot to take any pictures. The soups were average...
Henry's Rib Eye, served with boiled carrots, long beans and potatos (the ones on the right, looking rather odd-shaped). He didn't really like the onion sauce that came with the steak but kept complimenting the beef.
Here's my Tenderloin served with the same veggies as Henry's rib eye but with asian butter on my steak (or at least I think it's asian butter since it looks the same as the one at Jack's Place).
The steaks were so JUICY and TASTY! Certainly the BEST STEAKS I have EVER TASTED in my life! Second best would be the steaks at Botak Jones Bukit Batok branch.
If you're wondering about the different cuts of steaks. There are three cuts of steak - Sirloin (what you normally get at Hawker western food stalls or cheap cafes), Rib Eye (which is essentially two different parts joined together), and the Tenderloin (most tender cut also known as Fillet Mignon).
Next is our dessert, which I was eagerly looking forward to since it's my favourite TIRAMISU! And boy, it certainly didn't disappoint!
The sauce you see at the side is actually white and dark chocolate sauce! And it comes with small slices of honeydew, watermelon, mango and a grape. You can dip the cake into the yummy biscuit crumbs too.
My gosh, it was soooo delicious. My only complain is that it's SO SMALL! Well, I guess we were very stuffed by that time, but we could've stuffed down more sweet tiramisu in our bellies. *greedy look*
For those who're not familiar with Tiramisu, it has several layers of ingredients. From top to bottom are cocoa powder, cream cheese, coffee cake, cream cheese, and a biscuit like bottom(not sure exactly what it is). So if you really hate coffee taste, this might not suit you.
I highly recommend this place and you'll definitely come to love steak after you've eaten here. The dinner course is around $50++ while if you order the steak only A' la carte, it's $30+++.
On a side note, I'm very worried that the lower part of my right eye (the eye bag area) keeps quivering intermittently. It's not painful, but abnormal thus making me quite uncomfortable. Not sure if I should see a doctor about this...
I have recorded a new YouTube video of me singing one of my favourite songs, For Always. Watch it in HIGH QUALITY...
It was more of an impromptu recording session while I was at KBox with Bonnie. Their KLunch food is getting nastier and nastier...hardly even edible! >.<
As most of you have probably noticed, I've been away from blogging for almost a whole month. December is probably the most happening month of 2008 for me. Here are some of the things that happened... =)
On the second week of December, a wonderful thing happened. My mom's church friend took leave with her husband to go dating, and left Elsa for me to babysit for 8 hours straight!
She wailed several times, louder than the drilling next door even. It was a challenge to understand why she was crying... However, I was surprised that I felt no panic, maybe because I've been listening to loud drilling for months now.
Fed her Heinz food for nearly two whole hours. If I put too much on the spoon, she'd stick out her cute little tongue and the food would come back out. So I had to feed miniscule amounts at a time, thus the long time taken. Her mom also gave me pumped breast milk to heat up for her to drink from a bottle, gosh Elsa has alot of food to eat.
My family celebrated Persisca's 10th Birthday on the 29th of November, this is the Swensen's Disney ice cream cake I ordered for her... She chose this baby pooh picture...
Elsa had her Baby Dedication in church a few weeks ago, she was simply angelic when her parents brought her on stage and even grabbed the pastor's hand so tightly. She really knows how to get attention and steal our hearts... Haha.
It's so funny how Persisca's winnie the pooh bear looks larger than Elsa in this photo... =P
The man wearing the white and blue striped shirt in the background of the next picture is Elsa's father.
The woman carrying her is Aunty Josephine, who babysits Elsa twice a week for a fee I think. Envious of her abundant time with Elsa, cos' the more time you spend with her, the better she recognises you.
Another restaurant review! One of our favourite pasta places to go is Shokudo, at Cathay Cineleisure and CityLink Mall.
This is our appetiser, seaweed flakes potato wedges...
Quite average tasting, can't really taste any of the "special" seaweed flavouring.
Henry ordered grilled meatballs with fetuccine pasta... Their cream sauce pastas are soo sooo yummy! And the meatballs are juicy and flavourful...
One of the cheapest pasta on the menu, a student's special is the Wan Ton Cream Pasta. It doesn't sound good but it really tastes delicious, I never thought wanton and cream pasta could go well together!
I chose a festive colour for my manicure+pedicure for December. While in Voxy with Bonnie, I saw Patricia Mok doing her nails too. She went in before me, but was still there after I left. Gosh these people spend so many hours there, isn't it boring?
I had the good fortune of having my maple friend from Malaysia stay with me for Christmas Week. Eunice took a bus all by herself from Kuala Lumpur to HarbourFront Center where we picked her up.
After which we went to Bugis to meet up with another maple friend (designer of the blog picture head) for dinner at Indulgz Bistro.
There are so many christmas trees of all shapes and sizes all over malls and places of interests. Everywhere you turn, hey there's a small christmas tree, then to your left, a gigantic one like the one below...
I can never get tired of eating Indulgz's Melted Cheese Fries with Bolognaise! XD We each ordered one plate of it for main course since everything else on the menu was not worth its price. Only this dish stands out...
Here's proof that Eunice ate the famous cheese fries too!
That's Llewellyn (Meteorave), Henry (Bbmentos), Me (SelmerSax) and Eunice (Miyonite).
Seriously, how hard is it to use a digital camera? The waitress didn't know how to keep her hands still or use focus - holding the button halfway to focus.
The next day, a Monday, I brought Eunice for a day out just by ourselves. We went to VivoCity, one of my favourite Singapore malls, to watch Yes Man at GV Max (a cinema that has a very wide screen). The show was quite ok, felt alot like a less funny version of Liar, Liar.
It's crazy how the school holidays made Vivocity, a usually quiet and desolate place, so vibrant and cramped! We had to queue 20minutes for the tickets and were almost late...
After which, we had scrumptious dim sum at Bosses Restaurant. Eunice was fascinated by the cute teapot that contained the Rose Tea I ordered. One tip if you go there, always tell them to cancel the appetisers they serve you, I think it costs a cool $4.90 already.
We wanted to watch the 7.40pm Songs of The Seas Musical Fountain show at Sentosa but it was completely sold out. So while waiting for our 8.40pm show, we went for a free tram ride around Sentosa. Eunice felt so comfortably rocked by the ride that she nodded off, almost falling off the side of the tram.=X
With hours to spare still, we headed back to Vivocity via the monorail (which we later learnt that the pass we paid for was not an all day pass, but for one return trip only T.T"). Candy Empire was so, so crowded so we visited the newly opened National Geographic shop.
Here's a globe lamp which costs thousands of dollars! This shop is really cool, there are many exhibitions and interesting artifacts to look at. However the things they sell are highly exorbitantly priced.
Here are some beautiful flowers I saw in Sentosa, I think they are petunias, but I'm not sure. That green thing next to the flowers is not a bin, but a music player.
I think they did some adjustments to the finale of Songs of The Seas, it seems more majestic =) The storyline sucks to the max but the special effects are so wondrous, Eunice kept saying "Wow!" throughout the show.
The entrance to Songs of the Sea has little dots of lights that change colours, it looks so magical.
On the 23rd of December, we had a Guild Outing, ice skating at Kallang Leisure Park.
Here's a picture of Vivian (Magegirlzs), Marie202 (YeeLing), me (SelmerSax), and my sister (SwishySwish). Most of them can't skate and were moving slowly around the crowded rink. I miss skating, why does it have to be SO FAR AWAY?!
Jacqueline (Mariepuff) and I.
Eunice and I (=
We slacked the whole of christmas eve and cooked Ikea meatballs, Criss cut fries (which Eunice had NEVER tried before, shockingly) and nuggets for our dinner. We also watched three movies, Superhero Movie, Minority Report and Secret. I love Secret's OST, really much kudos to Jay Chou for this masterpiece.
As usual I sang in a choir for christmas day, how unexciting.
I shall end by sharing some jokes I copied off Botak Jones's take-away box. =) Enjoy...and please embed my video in your blog if you like it. (Shameless advertising, I know, pity this aspiring singer =X)
I was on an elevator the other day, and the operator kept calling me 'son'. I said, "Why do you call me 'son'? You're not my father." He said, "I brought you up, didn't I?"
Hassidic Shadchan marriage broker
A Hassidic family is most concerned that their 30-year-old son in unmarried. So they call a marriage broker and ask him to find their son a good wife.
The broker comes over to their house and spends a long time asking many questions of the son and his parents as to what they want in a wife/daughter-iin-law. They give him a long shopping list of requiremtns.
The marriage broker takes a long time looking and finally asks to visit the family again. He tells them of a wonderful woman he has found. He says she's just the right age for the son...she keeps a Glatt Kosher home...she regularly attends Schul and davens by heart...she is a wonderful cook...she loves children and wants a large family and, to crown it all off, she's drop dead gorgeous.
After hearing all this, the family is very impressed and begins to get excited about the prospects of a wedding in the near future.
But the son pauses and asks, "Is she also good in bed?" The marriage broker answers, "Some say yes...some say no."
FARMER JOHN
Farmer John lived on a quiet rural highway. But, as time went by, the traffic built up at an alarming rate.
The traffic was so heavy and so fast that his chickens were being run over at a rate of three to six a day.
So one day Farmer John called the sheriff's office and said, "You've got to do something about all of these people driving so fast and killing all of my chickens." "What do you want me to do?" asked the sheriff.
"I don't care," said Farmer John. "Just do something about these crazy drivers!" So the next day, the county workers erected a sign that said "SLOW: SCHOOL CROSSING." Three days later Farmer John called the sheridd and said, "You've got to do something about these drivers. The 'school crossing' sign seems to make them go even faster."
Finally, Farmer John said to the sheriff, "Your signs are doing no good. Can I put up my own sign?" The sheriff was ready to let Farmer John do just about anything if it would get him to stop calling everyday. He said, "Sure thing, put up whatever you want." And after that, the sheriff got no more calls from Farmer John.
Three weeks later, the sheriff's curiosity got the best of him and he decided to give Farmer John a sign. "How's the problem with those drivers? Did you put up your sign?"
"Oh, I sure did. And not one chicken has ben killed since then. I've got to go. I'm very busy." He hung up the phone.
The sheriff was really curious now and he thought to himself "I'd better go out there and take a look at that sign... It might be something that WE could use to slow down drivers..."
So the sheriff drove out to Farmer John's house, and his jaw nearly hit the floor at what he saw. There painted neatly on a sheet of plywood was Farmer John's sign: "NUDIST COLONY: GO SLOW -- WATCH FOR CHICKS"
Ring a Ling Ling~
Sunday, November 23, 2008, it's 8:50 AM.
It feels just last month I was preparing for christmas events and in a swoop Christmas is upon us once again. I know this has been said to death, but I really feel the year passes just too quickly. You wish each day would get by smoothly but at the end of it all, does one regret not pulling each minute's worth?
I've just sent an email two nights ago to my Worship Overseer in my church. He told us of this invitation from Siloso Beach Resort to perform 2 sets of 30min carolling on christmas eve. They would pay us (an 8 man crew) and give us a free delicious meal. Oh man! I really hope I get picked, this would be a very good opportunity.
In addition, my other worship leader has asked me to join a small group of handpicked people to sing for two separate events. Wow, busy busy...better start training on my vocals everyday again.
Unfortunately, schoolwork is also picking up speed. On a good note, construction drilling has subsided temporarily, so my mood's also picking up.
i wished blogger had a larger editing area for a post.
